How many times did I skip that opening cutscene? Soooo many times!!! The first time I played it, I must've been shocked and confused. Playing the game and seeing the title screen for the first time was a really captivating experience. I think the art direction for this game surpasses the second one. From the sick logo with the number 2 to the title screen and multitude of character profiles more-the only thing it lacked was its level design. Which may have just been too magnificent in the first title. And there were some X-MEN. It really is a faithful sequel. I recall going to school and reciting parts of its game since I was so in love with it. I wanted to process nothing else which made it difficult for my friends who didn't know English at all...I hope it wasn't too bothersome. But I do like the game. Its costumes, the levels, the bosses. I just grew up with a busted copy. The intro sequence was a mystery and a lot of bugs played the CD. Voices would be out of sync and some errors would occur frequently, but they didn't effect the gameplay. It was just a matter of quickly smashing the start button to skip the opening sequence. Or anything that stuttered. Dynasty Warriors 3 had the same problem. I don't know where they'd find these games. I never went into a store. I never chose one above another. It was just blankly forced upon me and I was okay with it. It's not a bad habit but in old age it's really setting me up for failure. Back then it was fun to meet "the beast" and then seeing an adaptation in theatres. Knowing in the back of my mind that I know of another beast with high expectations. I do regret that I expected the real life counterpart to have the same haircut.
